Certified Surgical Tech Grand Rapids, MI $1,949/week based on 40 hours/week 4x10 day shift 13 week contract to start Must haves: 1-2 years of CST experience, previous hospital experience, BLS certified CORE Staffing offers Loyalty Bonuses, Health Insurance, 401K to all our contracted clinicians Job Summary Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Certified Surgical Technologist, a vital member of the operating room team dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care during surgical procedures. In this role, you will assist surgeons and nursing staff by preparing the operating environment, ensuring sterile techniques, and managing surgical instruments and supplies. Your expertise will contribute to smooth surgical workflows across diverse specialties, including trauma, pediatrics, and critical care settings. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment where precision, efficiency, and patient safety are paramount. Responsibilities Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing instruments, arranging supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly before procedures begin Assist surgeons during surgeries by passing instruments, suturing wounds, and managing surgical tools with precision and aseptic technique Maintain accurate medical records and document surgical procedures using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or other EMR platforms Monitor patient vital signs and physiological responses throughout surgeries to ensure stability and safety Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a sterile environment to prevent cross-contamination or infection risks Support various specialties including hospital medicine, emergency medicine, trauma centers (Level I & II), PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), and ambulatory surgery centers Collect data related to surgical procedures for quality assurance, process improvement, or research purposes Demonstrate strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and critical care principles to anticipate needs during complex surgeries Qualifications Valid certification as a Surgical Technologist from an accredited program (CST credential preferred) Proven OR experience in diverse clinical settings such as hospital operating rooms or ambulatory surgery centers Experience working in Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable Knowledge of aseptic technique, infection control practices, and sterilization procedures Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or similar platforms for documentation purposes Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, vital signs monitoring, and acute care procedures Ability to perform suturing skills and assist with patient care before, during, and after surgery Critical care experience in ICU or emergency medicine settings is advantageous Excellent analysis skills for data collection and process improvement initiatives Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications such as Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) are a plus Embark on a rewarding career where your skills directly impact patient outcomes.
