Job Description
Job Overview Fairview has an immediate opening for a Surgical Technologist in the Labor and Delivery Department at Woodwinds Hospital, located in Woodbury, MN. We're offering an up to $4500 sign-on bonus and a generous relocation bonus up to $5,000 when applicable. As a Surgical Technologist, you'll assist in surgical procedures by preparing the operating room, arranging, and passing instruments to surgeons, and ensuring a sterile environment under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. You'll play a crucial role in supporting the surgical team and maintaining the safety and efficiency of the operating room.
Schedule :
This position will work 0.6 FTE (48 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 8 hours on the evening shift (3PM-11:30PM), no call. Holiday rotation is required. About our Delivery Room atWoodwinds:
Woodwinds maternity care center has approximately 2,000 deliveries annually! The OB surg tech will assist in all c-section cases occurring in the maternity OR. A typical shift case load is often 1-2 cases per shift. This role will assist in patient care needs for patients on the maternity department, such as collecting vitals, weights, and completing ADLs for patients. Conduct hearing screenings for newborns. This role will assist in daily cleaning and stocking of labor equipment in the department to meet patient care needs Woodwinds has 82 beds in total so if you are looking for a small, community hospital, this is the perfect position for you! As a Surgical Technologist, you will be responsible for: Supplying appropriate instruments, suture, and specialty items. Maintaining aseptic technique during all sterile procedures. Ensuring accurate identification and handling of specimens. Counting all required sponges, sharps, and instruments. Assuring availability and accurate functioning of supplies and equipment. Modifying clinical interventions based on population served. Nurturing a culture of improvement, efficiency, and innovative thinking. Anticipating the surgeon's needs. Following appropriate action in emergency situations.Required Qualifications:
Complete one of the following by hire date: Military Surgical Assistant; OR LPN (licensed in MN) Surgical Assistant; OR Surgical Technologist training Basic Life Support (BLS) through Health Care Providers (or ability to obtain by hire date)Preferred Qualifications:
Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technologist program AST certification or certification eligible at time of hire 1 to 3 years surgical tech experienceOther Required Skills:
Knowledge of physical, psychosocial, and cognitive developmental needs of population served. Knowledge of age-appropriate outcomes and interventions.Desired Skills:
Demonstrate the ability to work under stress in a variety of situations. Ability to work well under a team environment.
