Job Description

The Surgical Technologist is a graduate of an accredited surgical technology program. The Surgical Tech assists the surgeon as a scrub tech, assists the circulating nurse under his/her direct supervision, assists in housekeeping duties of the unit and maintains and increases standards of performance and education.
QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program Demonstration of recent and relevant experience Current BLS certification Participation in continuing education programs related to operating room nursing and mandatory OCH in-service programs Ability to meet daily physical demands of the job Cognitive ability to follow directions
JOB RELATIONSHIPS
Works under the direct supervision of the staff RN Works closely with other professional and nonprofessional personnel in the OR, as well as interdepartmental relationships and patients/families
