Job Description

Category Nursing - ORT Job Type Contract Advance your clinical career as a Surgical Technologist (Certified) or Operating Room Technician (ORT) working in a dynamic and supportive hospital setting. This is a contract opportunity offering valuable experience in a fast-paced operating room environment.
Schedule:
10-hour day shifts, 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM 40 hours per week Rotating holiday call required (4-5 weekday and possible weekend calls per pay period) Weekend rotation every other weekend
Qualifications:
Valid certification as a Surgical Technologist or ORT BLS certification required At least 18 months recent experience in a surgical/operating room setting Familiarity with standard Med/Tele skills such as cardiac rhythm interpretation, stroke experience, trach care, chest tube management, NGT placement, and management of various drains and tubes Flexibility to float between multiple units and facilities as needed within your scope of practice Proficiency with EMR systems (Epic experience preferred) Strong ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare operating rooms for surgery, ensuring all instruments and equipment are sterile and functional Assist surgeons and nurses during procedures, maintaining strict adherence to sterile techniques Manage and organize surgical supplies before, during, and after procedures Rotate call and holiday coverage as required by department schedule Float between units and partner facilities as needed according to staffing needs Maintain accurate, timely documentation and provide exceptional patient care
