March 31, 2026 Full-Time On-site Locations Showing 1 location Woodsville, NH 03785, USA Job Details Description Join our Surgical Team on a Per Diem basis! Responsible for the overall cleanliness of the surgical areas, ancillary rooms, and the equipment housed in them. Assist the professional staff in carrying out specific tasks associated with the care of the surgical patient. Shall be knowledgeable and abide by Hospital, Human Resources, and departmental policies and procedures. Performs other duties as needed in support of departmental and institutional needs and requirements. Stand or walk 90% of the work shift. Occasional exposure to infectious diseases. Work area is well lit and ventilated. May be exposed to a small amount of radiation from x-rays, anesthetic gases, caustic chemicals, and a large amount of blood and its byproducts. May find sharps objects and broken equipment.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Setting up the instruments and equipment that is required for the procedure Reviews upcoming surgical cases and takes inventory to ensure there are enough supplies for surgery Passing the Surgeon instruments and sterile supplies throughout the operation Taking a count of all surgical instruments and supplies prior to the operation Recounting surgical instruments and supplies at the end of the operation Maintaining an overall sterile environment throughout the surgery Don and doff surgical attire, including sterile gloves, gowns, and masks Cleans endoscopy scopes as needed Assists with transferring and positioning patients both to and from the surgical table Participates in stocking and restocking medical/surgical supplies Pulls cases for the next day Helps clean rooms after surgery to support a 30 minute or less turnover for surgical and a 15minute or less turnover for endoscopy cases May occasionally assist surgeons in other areas of the hospital Qualifications Education Required Technical/other training or better in Other. Experience Preferred Minimum of 1-2 years' experience working as a surgical technologist- Will train to have thorough knowledge of surgical asepsis, scrubbing role and Cottage Hospital OR policies, procedures Licenses & Certifications Required Medical Technicians Certified Surgical Tech
