Know Your Team:
Lovelace Medical Center is an acute care hospital with 263 licensed beds, providing comprehensive care, including around-the-clock emergency care, surgical services, non-invasive robotic spine surgery, stroke care, radiology, and oncology services. Learn About a Day In the Life of a
Surgical Tech:
Responsibilities Performs various indirect patient care support and services, including but not limited to transporting patients and lab specimens, assisting with patient positioning, and maintaining patient care rooms to ensure a sterile environment. In addition, may be required to provide basic clerical support for the assigned area. Adheres to policies and procedures and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety.
Qualifications Job Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or clinical-based program. Anatomy and Physiology, sterile technique, medical terminology, instrumentation, and medical equipment knowledge. Sterilization techniques; Operating Room instruments and supplies; medical terminology. Six (6) months of experience in an operating room or ambulatory surgery unit. BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
Preferred Job Requirements:
Certified OR Tech. 1 year OR experience. CORT or CST.
