1 Description American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with 2+ years of OR experience and proficiency across multiple surgical specialties for a travel position at a hospital operating room in Carlsbad, NM. Details Hospital OR setting with 6 operating rooms and a facility size of 99 beds Monthly department volume of approximately 250-300 surgical procedures 1:1 patient ratio Day shift schedule, 7:00 AM-5:30 PM, four 10-hour shifts per week Call is required: minimum one weekday per week, plus weekend rotation; on-call hours are Monday-Friday 1530-0700 and Saturday-Sunday 0700-0700 Surgical specialties include general, orthopedic, OB/GYN, podiatry, urology, plastics, endoscopy, trauma, and robotic surgery (da Vinci) Adult and pediatric patient populations EMR systems: MedHost (inpatient) and PICIS (OR) Hospital scrubs are provided Requirements CST certification through the NBSTSA required Minimum 2 years of recent surgical technologist experience required Experience across multiple specialties required, including general, orthopedic, OB/GYN, podiatry, urology, plastics, endoscopy, trauma, and robotic (da Vinci) surgery Adult and pediatric surgical experience required BLS certification required No certifications may expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible License required if applicable Valid driver's license required for consideration No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months Additional Information Prepare the operating room including the sterile field, surgical equipment, supplies, and solutions prior to procedures Pass instruments, fluids, and supplies to the surgeon during procedures Manage the sterile field and surgical specimens simultaneously during cases Perform sponge and supply counts to prevent retained foreign objects Fingerprinting is required for all travelers working in New Mexico RTO requests must be for less than one week in duration Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any CHS facility within the past 2 years are not eligible for this position
