Job Description
NurseIO is seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to support surgical teams in an outpatient surgical setting. The Surgical Technologist is responsible for maintaining a sterile environment, preparing surgical instruments and supplies, and anticipating the needs of surgeons and the operating room team to ensure safe and efficient patient care. Responsibilities Prepare and maintain sterile fields for surgical procedures. Ensure sterility of surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment. Assist surgeons, physicians, and nursing staff during procedures. Perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts with the circulating nurse. Pass instruments and supplies during surgical procedures. Handle and label specimens according to facility protocols. Assist with cleaning, sterilization, and reprocessing of surgical instruments. Follow infection prevention, safety, and aseptic technique standards. Maintain accurate documentation as required. Communicate effectively with physicians, staff, and patients while maintaining confidentiality. Support operating room efficiency and patient safety throughout procedures. Requirements Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required. Current BLS certification. Current 2-Step TB test/documentation. Minimum of one (1) year of surgical technologist experience required. Spine, orthopedic, or ambulatory surgery center experience preferred. Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, instrumentation, sterile technique, and patient safety practices. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
