1 Job Description Bassett Medical Center is seeking an experienced CVOR Surgical Technologist to support cardiac and general operative services within a collaborative surgical team environment. This position requires a highly skilled OR Tech capable of independently scrubbing open heart procedures while also supporting multiple surgical specialties based on daily case volume. The ideal candidate will have strong cardiovascular operating room experience along with additional exposure to vascular, general surgery, and plastics procedures. Unit Overview 1 Dedicated CVOR Room Approximately 2-3 cardiac cases per week Team includes: 1 Cardiac Surgeon 2 Perfusionists 4 Surgical Technologists (varies by shift) Primary Cardiac Cases Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG) Valve Replacements and Repairs Responsibilities Independently scrub and assist during open heart surgical procedures Prepare and maintain sterile fields for cardiovascular and surgical procedures Assist with vein harvesting using endoscopic and open techniques Support surgeons, perfusionists, and perioperative staff during cardiac surgeries Operate and assist within heart-lung bypass machine environments Utilize cell saver and cardiovascular surgical instrumentation appropriately Ensure proper handling, preparation, and sterilization of surgical instruments and supplies Maintain patient safety and sterile technique throughout procedures Float daily to other surgical specialties based on operational needs Support General OR, Vascular, Plastics, and additional surgical service lines as needed Requirements Certified Surgical Technologist experience required Strong CVOR scrub experience required Ability to independently scrub open heart procedures required Experience assisting with vein harvesting required Endoscopic vein harvesting experience preferred Additional experience in: Vascular Surgery General Surgery Plastics required for submission Experience with cardiac instrumentation and sterile setup required Experience working in bypass/cardiac surgery environments required Strong adaptability and ability to float between specialties required Equipment & Systems Heart-Lung (Bypass) Machine support environment Cell Saver equipment Standard CVOR instrumentation and sterile setups Floating Expectations Floating required daily depending on cardiac case volume May float to: General OR Vascular Surgery Additional surgical specialties Why Join This Assignment? $2,345.00•$2,470.00 per week
