Surgical Scrub Tech looking for a high-paying travel gig where your elite skills are truly valued? This is your opportunity to step into a leading regional healthcare system known for its advanced cardiac care and exceptional team culture. We are staffing for an elite perioperative heart team in Upstate New York. What Youll Do (The Caseload) As a crucial member of this high-impact heart team, you will seamlessly coordinate with surgeons and perfusionists across dynamic, high-volume surgical suites:
The Main Stage:
Expertly scrub and manage core cardiac service-line procedures, including CABG (on-pump and off-pump variations), AVR/MVR (Aortic/Mitral Valve Replacements and Repairs), and high-acuity Aortic Aneurysm Dissections and Root Repairs .
Vascular & Thoracic Mastery:
Confidently navigate secondary thoracic cases like lung resections and lobectomies, as well as complex vascular procedures like carotid endarterectomies and fem-popliteal bypasses.
Field Organization:
Efficiently structure the sterile field for simultaneous vessel harvesting (Saphenous vein or Radial artery) while the main chest case is being prepped.
Core Responsibilities Anticipation & Speed:
Stay two steps ahead of the surgeon. Anticipate needs for micro-instrumentation, specialized clamps, and fine cardiac sutures before they are even requested.
Sterile Field Integrity:
Maintain flawless sterile technique preoperatively and intra-operatively, adhering to strict infection control policies.
Patient Safety & Precision:
Lead accurate, meticulous material and instrument counts (sponges, needles, tapes, dissectors) to guarantee an absolute safe environment.
Room Flow & Turnover:
Assemble setups utilizing exact surgeon preference cards and expedite efficient OR suite turnover.
Requirements & Qualifications Education:
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program, accredited school of Practical Nursing (LPN), or equivalent military training pathway.
Certified Surgical Tech:
( NBSTSA CST or equivalent strongly preferred).
Life Support:
Active
CPR / BLS
Certification.
Proven Track Record:
