Job Description

Surgical Department Inventory & Logistics Coordinator Position Summary The Surgical Department Inventory & Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing surgical equipment rentals, maintaining inventory levels, coordinating supplier orders, and scheduling deliveries to support the efficient operation of the surgical department. This role works closely with clinical staff, vendors, and delivery personnel to ensure equipment and supplies are available when needed. Key Responsibilities Track and manage rental surgical equipment, including rental agreements, usage, returns, and billing documentation. Monitor inventory levels of surgical supplies and equipment. Place orders with approved suppliers to maintain adequate stock and prevent shortages. Coordinate with vendors regarding deliveries, backorders, and product availability. Schedule and dispatch surgical department drivers for equipment and supply deliveries and pickups. Verify incoming shipments and ensure accurate inventory records. Process purchase orders, invoices, and related documentation. Maintain inventory management and rental tracking systems. Assist with cost control by monitoring inventory usage and rental expenses. Communicate with surgical staff regarding equipment availability and supply needs. Ensure compliance with departmental policies and healthcare regulations. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred. Experience in inventory control, purchasing, logistics, medical supplies, or healthcare operations. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Proficiency with inventory management software and Microsoft Office. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
