Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic healthcare Ambulatory Surgical Team as an Operating Room Surgical Technician, where you will play a vital role in supporting surgical procedures within a fast-paced, high-quality ASC environment. Your expertise will ensure that surgical operations run smoothly, efficiently, and safely, providing exceptional patient care throughout the perioperative process. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work alongside skilled surgeons and healthcare professionals in a setting committed to excellence and innovation. Responsibilities Prepare the operating room by ensuring all surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment are sterile, organized, and ready for use. Assist surgeons and nursing staff during procedures by passing instruments, suturing, and managing surgical tools with precision and aseptic technique. Monitor patient vital signs and physiological responses during surgery, supporting critical care needs as required. Collect and document data related to patient status, procedure details, and intraoperative observations using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as SIS or EPIC. Maintain strict infection control protocols and adhere to safety standards to prevent contamination or infection risks. Support patient care activities pre- and post-operation, including positioning patients and ensuring comfort and safety. Demonstrate strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and critical care practices to assist effectively in complex surgical cases such as podiatry, gynecology, ophthalmology, and pain management. Support ancillary departments such as pre-operative, post-operative and environmental services as needed. Engage in quality support and patient excellence with leadership and peers. Other duties as assigned within scope of practice. Qualifications Proven experience working in an operating room environment with a strong understanding of aseptic technique and infection control measures. Prior experience in outpatient, ambulatory or hospital surgery is highly preferred. Demonstrated skills in data collection, analysis of vital signs, suturing techniques, and patient care procedures. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and acute care practices. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Ability to work effectively in high-pressure, fast-paced environments such as ambulatory surgery centers while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills combined with analysis skills to support multidisciplinary teams during complex procedures.
