Job Description

Category Nursing - ORT Job Type Contract Seeking an experienced professional to support a busy surgical team in a dynamic clinical environment. This assignment offers a 13-week contract for individuals with expertise in perioperative services.
Schedule/Hours:
5 shifts per week 8-hour "Mids" (11:00 am start time)
Key Qualifications:
Certification as a Surgical Technologist or demonstrated proficiency in Operating Room Technology (ORT) Active BLS certification required NTCMB certification required Previous experience assisting in a variety of surgical cases preferred Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and perioperative safety standards Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and surgical teams Detail-oriented approach to patient safety, documentation, and procedural support
Core Responsibilities:
Prepare operating rooms for surgery, including instrumentation, equipment, and required sterile supplies Assist surgeons and nurses during procedures by ensuring all instruments and materials are readily available Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and aseptic technique Identify and troubleshoot equipment concerns before and during surgical cases Facilitate smooth room turnover between cases through efficient cleaning and setup Support the surgical team in specimen handling and accurate documentation Communicate effectively with surgeons and nursing staff to anticipate case flow needs Gain valuable clinical experience while working alongside dedicated healthcare professionals in a well-supported operating room setting.
