On-site | Academic / Clinical Education Environment Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Surgical Technology Instructor to join a growing academic program in Westerville, OH . This role is ideal for a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) who is passionate about teaching and mentoring students entering the surgical field. The instructor will provide didactic, laboratory, and clinical instruction , ensuring students receive high-quality education and hands-on training to meet program and industry standards. Key Responsibilities Deliver classroom, lab, and clinical instruction to surgical tech students Develop and implement engaging lesson plans using a variety of instructional methods Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback and evaluations Maintain a safe, organized, and effective learning environment Track and submit attendance and grading documentation on time Support curriculum development and continuous program improvement Communicate regularly with students and academic leadership regarding performance and progress Assist in resolving student concerns in collaboration with program leadership Participate in faculty meetings, trainings, and school events (orientation, graduation, etc.) Engage in student retention initiatives and academic support efforts Required Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program Current NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential Minimum 5 years of experience in the operating room (scrub role), teaching, or a combination of both (within the past 10 years) Current certification through an NCCA-accredited program Minimum Associate's degree required (Bachelor's preferred) Experience or training in instructional methodology, curriculum design, or program planning Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills Ability to work collaboratively in an academic environment Preferred Qualifications At least 2 years of postsecondary teaching experience Prior experience mentoring or training students or new hires Experience working in structured academic or clinical education settings Schedule & Work Environment Primarily daytime hours (6:30 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday-Friday) Occasional evening or weekend hours for school events On-site teaching in classroom, lab, and clinical settings Why Join This Opportunity Consistent weekday schedule — great work-life balance Opportunity to transition from clinical setting into education Make a meaningful impact training future surgical tech professionals Collaborative and supportive academic environment How to Apply Apply directly through Indeed or send your resume to: asmith@altostaffing.com Qualified candidates will be contacted promptly.
