Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Surgical Technologist to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assisting during procedures, ensuring that the operating room is prepared and that all necessary instruments and supplies are available. This position requires a strong understanding of surgical procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments. The position will also require a role in the clinical side as a medical assistant working with our providers and patients. Responsibilities Prepare and maintain the sterile field for surgical procedures, adhering to strict aseptic techniques. Assist surgeons and other medical staff during operations by passing instruments and suctioning. Collect and document patient data, including vital signs and medical history, ensuring accurate medical records. Conduct thorough cleaning and sterilization of surgical instruments post-procedure to maintain infection control standards. Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) system for documentation and data management. Monitor patients' conditions pre-, intra-, and post-operatively, providing critical care support as required. Stay updated on medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, physiology knowledge, and best practices in surgical technology. Qualifications Certification as a Surgical Technologist from an accredited program is required. Previous OR experience is essential. Familiarity with acute care settings and the ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments is crucial. Proficiency in data collection and analysis skills related to patient care outcomes. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is preferred. Strong understanding of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques is required.
