The Surgical Technologist plays a critical role in the operating room by preparing and maintaining sterile surgical environments, anticipating the needs of the surgical team, and ensuring procedures run efficiently and safely. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent teamwork, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic surgical setting.
What you will be doing:
Prepare and organize sterile instruments, equipment, and surgical supplies for procedures Maintain a sterile field throughout operative and invasive procedures Function as the scrub technologist during surgeries by anticipating surgeon and team needs Pass instruments, supplies, and equipment efficiently during procedures Assist with sterile draping and preparation of surgical sites Perform instrument, sponge, and supply counts with the RN circulator Monitor and maintain sterility, taking corrective action when necessary Prepare sterile dressings and support safe patient care practices Clean, transport, and prepare surgical instruments for decontamination and reprocessing Assist with turnover and preparation of operating rooms between procedures Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nurses, and perioperative staff Support patient privacy, confidentiality, and hospital safety standards Participate in ongoing training, competency validation, and educational programs Float to other qualified departments as needed based on patient care demands What you must have: Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program Current BLS certification required CST certification preferred Strong knowledge of sterile technique and surgical procedures Ability to remain calm and focused in fast-paced environments Excellent communication and teamwork skills Flexibility to adapt to changing surgical schedules and department needs Thank you for your interest in this opportunity.
