AL01 Job Summary A Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) is a vital member of the surgical team responsible for preparing the operating room, maintaining a sterile environment, assisting surgeons during procedures, and ensuring patient safety before, during, and after surgery. The CST works collaboratively with surgeons, registered nurses, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality surgical care.

Responsibilities Duties:

Prepare and organize the operating room before surgical procedures. Sterilize surgical instruments and equipment according to infection control standards. Set up sterile fields and ensure all necessary instruments and supplies are available. Assist surgeons by passing instruments, sutures, and other sterile supplies during surgery. Maintain sterile technique throughout surgical procedures. Perform surgical counts of instruments, sponges, and needles before, during, and after procedures. Prepare patients for surgery, including positioning and skin preparation. Anticipate the surgeon's needs throughout the procedure. Handle surgical specimens according to facility protocols. Assist with cleaning and restocking the operating room after procedures. Monitor equipment functionality and report any issues. Adhere to hospital policies, patient safety standards, and infection prevention guidelines.
