Hours:
Full-Time - Days; 40 Hours Weekly. No Weekends, Nights, Holidays or On-Call!! The South Bend Clinic, you are supported to do your best work and make a meaningful impact every day. Key Responsibilities Prepare operating rooms with the instruments, supplies, equipment, and sterile field required for surgical procedures. Assist surgeons during procedures by anticipating needs, passing instruments, handling sutures, and maintaining a sterile environment. Support patient care by assisting with positioning, prepping, draping, and specimen handling. Perform instrument sterilization, disinfection, assembly, storage, and quality checks in accordance with infection control standards. Complete surgical counts and ensure compliance with patient safety and procedural protocols. Clean and restock operating rooms between cases to ensure readiness for upcoming procedures. Pull case carts according to physician preference cards and assist with inventory management and supply ordering. Operate and maintain surgical equipment, performing routine inspections and troubleshooting as needed. Collaborate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and perioperative team members to deliver exceptional patient care. Participate in ongoing education, competency validation, and quality improvement initiatives.
Position Requirements Education/Certification/License:
High school diploma or equivalent required Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program. Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required (unless grandfathered under current regulations).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Operating room experience is preferred. Must be detail oriented and very organized. Must be able to work under the direction of the Charge Nurse and Surgery Center Director while also receiving direction from physicians and other professional personnel.
