1 Description American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist with CVOR experience for a hospital Cardiovascular Operating Room position requiring NBSTSA certification and AHA BLS. Details Hospital-based Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) setting Day shift hours from 0630-1500, 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, 40 hours per week 2-3 weekday on-call shifts required per week Weekend call required every 3rd-4th weekend 12-week contract Charting performed in Cerner Requirements CVOR experience required NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required High school diploma or GED required, along with completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist educational program or an approved U.S. Military Surgical Technology training program Active SC or compact license required if applicable Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, crouch, and lift or push/pull up to 50 lbs Corrected vision and hearing to normal range Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible Additional Information Assist with the coordination and implementation of patient care in the cardiovascular OR, maintaining asepsis and performing scrubbing duties throughout surgical procedures Responsible for accounting for all instruments, equipment, and supplies used during surgical cases May serve as a clinical preceptor for scrubbing duties in collaboration with the patient care coordinator and educator Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of the unit and proper care of all equipment used during surgical cases Travelers may be floated to a nearby sister hospital as needed Holiday and weekend coverage may be required based on departmental needs Travelers may remain on assignment for up to one calendar year from their initial start date; a 30-60 day break is required before returning to a new assignment Exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and communicable diseases is expected in this role Work environment involves moderate to high noise levels and may require working under stressful conditions or irregular hours Two professional references are required for consideration
