1 Description American Traveler seeks an experienced OR Technician with CVOR experience for a 13-week travel assignment at a Level 1 trauma, 1000+ bed academic medical center's OR Float Pool, with prior travel experience required. Details Large academic Level 1 trauma hospital with 1000+ beds, featuring a 56-bed OR (inpatient and outpatient), 5 procedural rooms, and a dedicated cardiovascular OR Assigned to the OR Float Pool with the possibility of floating between OR units within the same facility (not across locations) Adult patient population only; pediatric OR is a separate facility Cases include open heart, transplant, trauma/neuro, general, ortho, GYN, urology, ENT, plastics, cardiothoracic, vascular, transplant (liver, renal, pancreas), robotic, hybrid rooms (cysto, bronch, and lead extraction), ambulatory ortho, burn, and hepatic-biliary 12-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM (days during the week may vary based on unit needs; block scheduling is not available) 36 hours per week; call is required for all travelers in cardiac surgery and distributed fairly among all staff in rotation Requirements Minimum of 2 years of OR experience required CVOR experience is required Must be able to scrub and have hands-on scrub experience Prior travel assignment experience required NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required; only the NBSTSA certification is accepted Certification must be on file at the time of consideration License required if applicable BLS certification required Additional Information Scrub in on a wide variety of case types including cardiovascular, transplant, neuro, trauma, robotic, and hybrid room procedures Call rotation is shared equitably among all traveling staff in the cardiac surgery service Due to the breadth of case types and float pool structure, candidates should be comfortable adapting across specialties First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
