Job Description

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center Uptown is searching to hire a full time Patient Care Technician for the Post Surgical Unit on the day shift, 7a
  • 7p. Baylor Scott & White Medical Center
  • Uptown is a joint venture surgical hospital between Baylor Scott & White Health (BSWH), United Surgical Partners International (USPI), and local physicians. Baylor Scott & White Medical Center
  • Uptown provides a wide range of medical and surgical services for to the greater North Texas area across 8 ORs, 24 private Inpatient rooms, a full-service ED.
The hospital specializes in both inpatient and outpatient procedures in Orthopedics, Joint Replacement, Spine, General, Bariatrics, Surgical Oncology, ENT, Reconstructive Surgery, and other surgical specialties.
Job Summary:
Assist patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to non-acutely ill patients and assists in maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.
Required Skills:
Position Qualifications:
High school student or graduate or equivalent. Previous clinical experience preferred. Current certification in CPR Possess the ability to follow established cleaning methods in performing daily tasks. Must be able to keep all equipment in good working condition. Medical Assistant or clinical training preferred One year experience directly related to duties and responsibilities specified is preferred Knowledge of patient care charts and patient histories Patient Interviewing skills Ability to perform standard clinical procedures according to established protocols Knowledge of patient evaluation procedures Ability to perform routine invasive procedures, such as venipuncture, and EKG Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards Ability to adapt to change quickly, strong knowledge base relative to surgery procedures and management of the surgical patient Understands principles of aseptic technique and their implementation
