Work Schedule Operating Room:
There is no exact shift. We hire for rotating shifts, 40 hours a week. We staff 24/7. We do not hire for specific shifts. This can be a combination of several shifts: 4 10's, 5 8's, 2 12's and 2 8's. We do self-scheduling, and do not take call.Surgical Technologist Shift Diffs:

$5.00 Primary Purpose Serves as a lead in preparing operating rooms for surgery, providing technical services, assisting during complex surgeries, and maintaining documentation to ensure activities meet operating room, and Parkland requirements. Experience- None Certification/Registration/Licensure

Education/Certification:
- Has successfully completed an accredited educational program for surgical Technologist and holds and maintains certification as a surgical technologist by:
- the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or its successor;
- the National Center for Competency Testing or its successor;
- another surgical technologist certification program approved by the department; OR
- Has completed an appropriate training program for surgical technology in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard of the United States or in the United States Public Health Service.
- Must have current healthcare provider CPR course completion card from one of the following: American Heart Association American Red Cross Rescuer Military Training Network. Skills or Special Abilities
- Must be able to demonstrate a basic working knowledge of surgical equipment, instruments and procedures.
- Must be able to set priorities and perform under stressful situations.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge in use of aseptic techniques.
- Must be able to recognize and correct immediately any breaks in aseptic technique.
- Must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Must be able to work a change in shift, or flexible hours when the work requires such changes.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with hospital staff.
- Must be able to demonstrate patient-centered/patient-valued behaviors.
