Job Description

Where You'll Work St. Luke's Health-Brazosport Hospital is located on a beautiful, 25-acre campus in Lake Jackson, Texas. Offering state-of-the-art diagnostic and comprehensive treatment services, our hospital is home to a 154-bed patient tower, level III trauma center, advanced cardiac care center, and full-service, multidisciplinary cancer center. Our team consists of over 100 board-certified physicians and nearly 600 highly skilled employees to meet our patients' medical needs. Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Surgical Tech, you will help prepare the operating room and surgical team so they can successfully perform a variety of surgical procedures for patients.

Every day you will set up surgical equipment and instruments, assist the surgical team, and ensure a sterile environment. You will be expected to adapt quickly, collaborate effectively within the OR team, and contribute directly to the patient's healing process.

To be successful in this role, you must possess adaptability, a strong team-player mindset, and enthusiasm for supporting complex surgical procedures. Assists surgical team in the scrubbing role according to prescribed standards Maintains sterile field. Reports immediately any breaks in aseptic technique. Passes instruments, suture products, medication, and sponge materials to surgeon. Assists with retracting of tissue and organs, and suctioning by holding the retracting instrument which has been placed by the surgeon. Electrosurgical current may be applied as directed by the surgeon, to an established instrument placed by the surgeon. Performs surgical counts with the RN according to policy and procedure. Job Requirements High School Graduate or GED Certified Surgical Technologist, or Technologist in Surgery-Certified, or Certified First Assistant
