1 Description American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of CVOR experience for a 13-week travel contract at a hospital in Plano, TX. Details Hospital CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room) unit PM shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 10:30 AM - 7:00 PM (5x8s) Cardiovascular surgical patient population requiring open heart and vascular procedures Scrubs are provided by the facility Requirements Minimum of 2 years of CVOR-specific experience required CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) certification required BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required Active TX license required if applicable 2 professional references required for consideration Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible Additional Information Prepare and maintain sterile instrument tables in an organized manner and perform surgical counts of sponges, sharps, instruments, and miscellaneous items per policy Anticipate surgeon and surgical team needs, passing sterile supplies and equipment during procedures and assisting with patient draping and positioning Receive and handle surgical specimens per protocol, passing them off the sterile field to the circulating nurse Disassemble, decontaminate, clean, and prepare surgical instrumentation for sterilization and redistribution following each case Adhere to infection control policies, AORN perioperative guidelines, and OSHA regulations to maintain a safe environment Successful completion of a CAAHEP-accredited or other nationally accredited surgical technology program required Flu vaccination is mandatory; no exemptions are granted (typically required August - November) Virtual interview, one round Candidates who have previously worked as a permanent employee at this health system should contact their recruiter prior to applying to verify eligibility
