Job Title:
Surgical Technologist (Scrub Tech)
Job Type/Location:
Full-time, in-person at our Houston (area) facility

Job Summary:
As a Surgical Technologist at BBI, you will play a crucial role in the operating room (OR) team, working closely with surgeons, nurses, and other personnel. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the OR environment is safe, equipment functions properly, and the surgical procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety. Maintain surgical conscience and aseptic technique throughout all procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
    Operating Room Preparation:
    o Set up the operating room with necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment. o Sterilize instruments and ensure all needed supplies are available and in working order.
      Intra-Operative Responsibilities:
      o Pass instruments and other sterile supplies to surgeons and surgical assistants. o Hold retractors, cut sutures, and assist in counting sponges, needles, supplies, and instruments. o Ensure a sterile environment is maintained throughout the surgery.
        Post-Operative Responsibilities:
        o Assist in cleaning the operating room after the surgery and preparing it for the next procedure. o Sterilize and restock instruments and supplies.
          Collaboration and Communication:
          o Ensure all interactions with patients and BBI staff maintain highest levels of respect and professionalism. o Work closely with the surgical team to maintain communication and facilitate a smooth procedure. o Assist in the monitoring of patient conditions during surgery.
            Inventory Management:
            o Responsible for ordering surgical supplies and managing inventory.
            • Non-Supervisory Roles (i) fostering BBI's compliance with all applicable payor requirements, federal and state laws, and (ii) adhering to the BBI's Code of Conduct, Compliance Program, and policies and procedures, including promptly reporting all compliance concerns (which can be reported anonymously per our Compliance Program)
            Qualifications:
            • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
            • Certification as a Surgical Technologist preferred.
            • BLS certification required.
            • Previous experience in an operating room or surgical environment is preferred.
            Skills:
            • Strong knowledge of surgical instruments and operating room procedures.
            • Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure.
            • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
            • Detail-oriented with a commitment to patient safety
            • Must be able to work flexible hours.
            • Must be able to lift and transport patients and equipment as needed.
            • Must be able to stand for extended periods.
            • Ability to lift and transport heavy equipment and supplies.
            • Dexterity to handle small instruments and tools.
            • Ability to keep up in a fast-paced operating room environment.
            • Exposure to health and safety hazards typical of surgical settings.
            This position is an integral part of a dynamic surgical team at BBI, contributing significantly to patient care utilizing advanced therapies for bladder and bowel control.
            Job Types:
            Full-time, Part-time Pay:
            $35.00 - $42.00 per hour
