Full Job Description Location:
Northern VA (field-based role serving hospitals and surgery centers in the greater Northern VA area) About the Role Medworks is hiring a Certified Surgical Technologist to join our surgical support team serving hospitals and surgery centers throughout the greater Northern VA area. In this mobile, hands-on role, you'll travel between client sites to support surgical teams and operate specialty surgical equipment during procedures. You'll play a critical role in the operating room, helping ensure each case proceeds safely, efficiently, and smoothly. From preparing sterile instruments to supporting surgical teams and operating Medworks equipment, your work directly contributes to positive patient outcomes. What You'll Do Prepare operating rooms by setting up sterile instruments, surgical equipment, and supplies Anticipate surgeon needs during procedures and pass instruments efficiently Maintain aseptic technique and adhere to infection control standards Operate and monitor Medworks rental lasers and other specialty surgical equipment Communicate clearly with surgical teams and support client preferences Assist with post-procedure clean-up, restocking, and operational readiness Complete required documentation and accurately track equipment usage What We're Looking For Required Qualifications Active Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential through NBSTSA or an equivalent accredited organization Ability to work in a fast-paced, clinical environment Skills & Attributes Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and infection control standards Stamina and time management skills for dynamic surgical schedules Critical thinking and sound decision-making under pressure Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills Experience Prior surgical technologist experience preferred Experience in urology, gynecology, or general surgery is a plus Schedule & Travel Primarily Monday-Friday schedule, with occasional early starts or extended days based on case volume Occasional on-call rotation as needed Periodic travel outside the local area may be required to support business needs About Medworks Medworks is a surgical equipment support and services provider specializing in urology, gynecology, and general surgery.
