Job Description

CVOR Certified Surgical Technologist - $30,000 Sign On Bonus Level I Trauma Teaching Hospital / Dedicated Heart Hospital Amazing benefits, relocation assistance, and internal/professional growth paths to CSFA!! This position is ideal for CSTs looking to level up their cardiac experience, expand their surgical skillset, and work at the top of their certification within a nationally recognized cardiovascular program. The team has a dedicated instructor for any CSTs with cardiac experience who need to be brought up to speed on certain procedures. There is also an internal growth path to CSFA Join a high-acuity cardiovascular surgical team within one of the region's premier Heart Hospitals, directly connected to a Level I Trauma Teaching Hospital in coastal Virginia. This is an opportunity to work alongside elite cardiac surgeons and multidisciplinary teams supporting some of the most advanced and critical cardiovascular procedures in the Mid-Atlantic region. This dedicated 112-bed Heart Hospital was purpose-built for advanced cardiac care and handles complex surgical cases escalated from across Virginia and surrounding areas. As a CVOR Surgical Technologist, you will play a key role in life-saving cardiac and thoracic procedures within a fast-paced, high-volume operating room environment. Duties (May vary by experience level) Prepare cardiovascular operating rooms with specialized instrumentation, supplies, implants, and equipment required for advanced cardiac and thoracic procedures Maintain sterile field integrity throughout all surgical cases while anticipating surgeon and team needs during procedures Pass instruments, manage surgical workflow, and support efficiency during high-acuity CVOR cases Assist with patient positioning, draping, wound dressings, and safe patient transfer to recovery areas Support complex cardiovascular procedures including: CABG Valve replacements and repairs (AVR, Mitral, Tricuspid)
TAVR ECMO
Aortic aneurysm and dissection repairs Heart transplants Pacemaker and laser lead procedures Balloon pump procedures Thoracic and vascular surgeries Ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, organized, and available for procedures Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia, perfusionists, RNs, and CVOR staff to maintain patient safety and procedural efficiency Adhere strictly to infection control standards, aseptic technique, and hospital surgical protocols Assist in maintaining organized documentation and procedural workflow within the OR environment Qualifications Active Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required any CVOR / Cardiac Experience or extensive plastics experience Experience supporting cardiovascular, thoracic, vascular, or transplant procedures strongly preferred Knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, anatomy, and cardiovascular surgical workflow required Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume operating room environment Why This Opportunity Stands Out Dedicated Heart Hospital directly connected to a Level I Trauma Teaching Hospital Exposure to some of the most advanced and critical cardiovascular surgical cases in the region High-volume CVOR environment with strong clinical growth opportunities Opportunity to advance into Surgical Assistant certification pathway after gaining additional experience Large sign-on bonus available ($30,000) Permanent full-time hospital position with long-term career growth potential Work alongside highly specialized cardiac surgeons and advanced cardiovascular teams Amazing benefits, relocation assistance, and growth paths!! Pay shown does NOT include any bonuses such as Sign on, relocation, or others. Those will be additional compensation on top of the base pay rate.

$32.00 - $50.00 per hour
