Job Description

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - Full-Time 4-Day Work Week | No Weekends | No Call | No Holidays Physicians Surgery Center of Tidewater is seeking a Full-Time Certified Surgical Technologist to join our team. We are a busy multispecialty ambulatory surgery center serving the Virginia Beach community and are an affiliate of United Surgical Partners International (USPI). At USPI, our mission is to care for each patient and their family as if they were our own—each patient, each family, each and every time. Physicians Surgery Center of Tidewater provides surgical services in the following specialties:
  • Neurosurgery
  • Ophthalmology
  • Orthopedic Surgery
  • Pain Management
  • Plastic Surgery
  • Podiatry
  • Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) The Certified Surgical Technologist is responsible for all departmental functions in support of USPI's mission, vision, and facility goals.
This position establishes effective working relationships with patients, physicians, employees, volunteers, and vendors. The Certified Surgical Technologist scrubs surgical procedures and demonstrates competence while working with leadership to meet facility safety, quality, customer service, and financial goals.
Qualifications:
    Education:
    High school graduate or equivalent
      Experience:
      Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center is strongly preferred
        Certifications:
        CST current certification; BLS required
        • Good command of the English language, both verbal and written
        • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
        Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
        • Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
        • Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation
        • Independent decision-making skills - ability to quickly adapt to changing conditions of the patient when needed
        • Excellent customer service skills - must be an excellent team player and can communicate with patients, employees, and medical staff
        • Advocate of patient safety and quality of care
