Surgical Technologist (OR)

Job Summary:

The Surgical Technologist (OR) assists in surgical operations under the supervision of surgeons, registered nurses, or other surgical personnel. They are responsible for preparing the operating room, arranging equipment and supplies, and assisting during surgeries.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Prepare operating room for surgical procedures 2. Set up and maintain sterile field during surgery 3. Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons during procedures 4. Assist with patient positioning and draping 5. Assist with prepping surgical site 6. Prepare and sterilize equipment and supplies 7. Maintain accurate records of procedures 8. Adhere to safety and infection control policies 9. Assist with post-operative clean-up and patient transport 10. Provide support to surgical team as needed

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential 2. High school diploma or equivalent 3. Completion of accredited surgical technology program 4. Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and instruments 5. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment 6. Excellent communication and teamwork skills 7. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills 8. Ability to follow instructions and work independently 9. Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects 10.
