Company Description Artistic Plastic Surgery is a specialized plastic surgery practice serving patients throughout the Puget Sound region. The practice offers a wide range of cosmetic and reconstructive procedures tailored to individual goals and needs. Care is centered on safety, clear communication, and delivering natural-looking results. Team members collaborate closely to provide a supportive, respectful environment for both patients and staff. The practice values professionalism, clinical excellence, and compassionate patient care. Role Description The Certified Surgical Technologist is a part-time, on-site role based in Tacoma, WA. This team member will prepare operating rooms for plastic surgery procedures, including setting up sterile fields, instruments, and supplies according to surgeon preferences and case requirements. Daily responsibilities include assisting the surgeon during procedures by passing instruments, handling specimens, maintaining strict aseptic technique, and anticipating surgical needs. The role also involves counting instruments and supplies, supporting room turnover between cases, and ensuring equipment is cleaned and stocked for upcoming surgeries. The technologist will collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and other medical staff to promote patient safety, efficiency, and a positive surgical experience. Clinical opportunities available for additional hours. Qualifications Strong foundation in Surgical Technology, including sterile technique, instrument handling, turnover and surgical workflow. Experience working in an Operating Room environment, ideally in outpatient, plastic surgery, or similar surgical settings. Proficiency in Surgical Assisting tasks such as passing instruments, retracting, and supporting the surgeon throughout procedures. Basic understanding of Medicine and Surgery principles relevant to plastic and reconstructive procedures. Active certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST or equivalent) and current BLS certification. Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and position equipment, and follow infection prevention and safety protocols. Excellent communication, teamwork, and time-management skills, with a commitment to respectful, inclusive patient care. Prior experience in plastic surgery or ambulatory surgery centers is preferred but not required; willingness to learn and adapt is essential.
