1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist with strong Ortho, Neuro, and robotic (DaVinci) experience for a 13-week OR travel assignment at a Level I Trauma Center in West Virginia. Details Work in a large OR department with 33 total suites across two units, averaging 80-120 cases per day Unit specializes in Ortho (major joints, spine, sports med, trauma), Neuro (craniotomies and spines), Xi Robotics (surgical oncology, urology, GYN), Bariatrics, ENT (head/neck free flaps and reconstruction), and Ophthalmology (retina, cataracts, oculoplasty) Da Vinci robotic surgical platform is used in this unit Charting is performed in Epic 12-hour rotating day and afternoon shifts on Saturdays and Sundays; no call required Typical shift start times include 6:30a, 10:45a, and 2:30p 13-week contract Requirements Minimum of 2 years of OR scrub experience required Strong experience in Ortho (total knees/hips), Neuro, trauma, and robotics is required Da Vinci robotic experience required BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required Completion of a Surgical Technology program, LPN licensure, RN program completion, or surgical tech extern program; OR a high school diploma/equivalent with 2 years of scrub experience License required if applicable Driver's license address must be from outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for this position A driver's license copy is required for consideration Two references required for consideration: one supervisor reference and one peer or additional supervisor reference (if perm employment within the last 12 months, one reference must be from that facility) Skills checklist completed within the past year is required for consideration Additional Information Level I Trauma Center with 24/7 poly trauma response capability Scrubs are provided for OR staff Both OR units are capable of outpatient cases, though 2 West primarily handles outpatient; candidates with strong ambulatory experience may be placed on 2 West Adult heart surgery, pediatric heart surgery, and kidney transplants are handled by separate specialized teams and are not part of this assignment Candidates who have previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before being eligible to return Travelers may not work within the WVU system for longer than one cumulative year without taking a 2-year break Candidates may only be submitted to one WVU facility at a time First-time travelers are not explicitly excluded, but 2 years of OR experience is required
