Position Details Job Title Telemetry Technician Job Type Full-Time Location Acute Care Salary $23.19 - $26.91 per hour Job Description The telemetry technician is responsible for identifying, monitoring, and responding to potentially life-threating rhythm changes, initiating codes, recording rhythms and responding to all monitor alarms. The ability to recognize life-threatening cardiac rhythms is an essential service in some hospital admissions. Prefer LVN or CNA with tele certificate. Roles & Responsibilities Monitors cardiac rhythms and pulse oximetry via telemetry. Maintains documentation of the cardiac rhythms for placement in the medical record. Reports arrhythmia to the appropriate charge nurse and physician when necessary. Manages nursing call light system via intercom and reports patient issues to the nursing staff as appropriate. Assists with taking off orders and filing paperwork for admission and discharge of acute care patients. Answers telephone when necessary and records messages for physicians or nursing staff. Qualifications & Skills Certification from an accredited telemetry recognition program. Excellent reading and writing skills. Must have good telephone skills. Basic Life Support Healthcare provider. Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Additional languages are preferred. Mid-level computer knowledge.
