Where You'll Work Founded in 1941, Dignity Health - Dominican Hospital is a 188-bed, acute care, nonprofit hospital located in Santa Cruz, California. Serving over 80,000 patients annually, the hospital offers a full complement of services including heart care, orthopedics, and a Family Birthing Center. One California Job Summary and Responsibilities As a Monitor Tech, you will be responsible for continuous observation and analysis of patients' cardiac rhythms to detect and report changes.
Every day you will meticulously monitor EKG strips, identify arrhythmias, measure intervals, and promptly communicate critical findings to nursing staff and healthcare providers, ensuring accurate documentation.
To be successful, you will demonstrate sharp observational skills, a thorough understanding of cardiac rhythms, and the ability to act quickly and precisely under pressure, crucial for patient safety and timely intervention. Utilizes the AIDET principle to communicate with others, with a focus on patients and their families. Acknowledge Introduce Explain Duration Thank Provides general support to the Charge Nurse/ Department Director. Provides assistance to staff, physicians and visitors. Greets patients, visitors, physicians, and others; provides directions as necessary. Maintains patient charts. Answers multiple phone lines and direct calls. Job Requirements Required One year as Unit Coordinator or Nursing Assistant or One year equivalent (i.e. MA, EMT, etc.) American Heart Association Basic Life Support
