Coffee Regional Medical Center Monitor Tech
POSITION SUMMARY
The Monitor Tech is responsible for monitoring the telemetry system. Assists with desk duties including transcribing orders and answering telephones.QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Excellent customer service skills. Reads and understands the English language. Ability to think critically and analytically with little or no supervision Ability to work effectively in situations of high stress and conflict and communicate goals and outcomes. Ability to process information and prioritize Possesses exceptional verbal and written communication skills Possesses independent work habits, is self-reliant and self-directed Ability to learn, adapt, and change as required by the job functions Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality of material and information accessed and reviewed Basic computer literacy Ability to move freely, reach, bend, and complete light lifting Ability to use good body mechanics while performing daily job functions and ability to follow specific OSHA guidelines Ability to maintain attendance to meet standard job practices Education High School Diploma, EMS background, nursing school in progress Certified Nurse Assistant or Medical Assistant Licensure Training/equivalent experience as a secretary, CNA or Medical Assistant preferred. BLS within 1 yr of employment and annually required. ACLS encouraged, monitor interpretation class/test annually. Experience 1- 2 years experience preferred.
Sedentary:
Exert up to 10 lb. of force occasionally and/or a minute amount frequently- >75% Essential mental requirements Essential sensory requirements Other Ability to communicate effectively and document information accurately Ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a wide variety of individuals Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred Basic computer knowledge is preferred Ability to move or lift patients and equipment Ability to successfully read cardiac monitor strips Equipment used

JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
Below are those tasks, duties, and responsibilities that comprise the means of accomplishing the position's purpose and objectives. These are critical or fundamental to the performance of the position. They are the major functions for which the person in the position is held accountable. Following are the essential functions of the position, along with the corresponding performance standards. Observes and reports patient's status changes in cardiac rhythm. Responds to telemetry alarms consistently, calls other units as needed. Does not leave monitoring station unattended. Is able to recognize lethal rhythms . Is able to pass rhythm strip test every two years. Updates patient information in telemetry log. Prints strips per policy and informs units. Monitors telemetry patients for appropriate orders and assures that expired telemetry's are returned or re ordered. Assists with patients only if someone can cover station. May feed, Transfers, moves and repositions patients. Transports patients. Makes occupied/unoccupied beds, only if station is covered.Similar remote jobs
