Summary Job Description:
Monitor Tech Full-Time-First Shift BHCOR-Cor Surgical Services Dept. I Corbin, KY The Monitor Tech is responsible for continuous monitoring and interpretation of cardiac rhythms, documenting and promptly communicating any significant arrhythmias to the appropriate clinical personnel. Assists the nursing team by detecting changes in cardiac rate, rhythm, NIBP, arterial line readings, and oxygen saturation, ensuring timely communication of these changes to the relevant clinical staff.
Description:
Monitor, interpret, and document cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and telemetry data; promptly report changes or abnormalities. Assist with cardiac monitoring procedures and maintain appropriate alarm settings. Enter patient telemetry data on admission and maintain accurate monitoring records. Answer and route calls, respond to call lights, and communicate effectively with nurses, physicians, telemetry staff, patients, and visitors. Troubleshoot, maintain, clean, and disinfect telemetry equipment; report equipment issues as needed. Maintain accurate patient census, monitor inventory, and ensure proper documentation of rhythm strips and telemetry supplies. Follow safety, infection control, emergency preparedness, and regulatory requirements. Attend required training and support Baptist Health's mission, values, and culture of safety.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required. No prior experience required. BLS certification required; Life-Threatening Arrhythmia Training and Aegis/DY training required within established timeframes. Ability to learn and perform cardiac monitoring and telemetry-related duties.
