Job Summary The Monitor Technician is responsible for cardiac monitoring activities and appropriate documentation as well as maintaining equipment and supply inventory.
MONITOR TECHNICIAN
Proficiency LevelPATIENT & INVENTORY ASSESSMENT
Interprets monitored rhythms inclusive of Pr and QRS intervals, and documents routinely q2 hrs and prn as medications are administered noting time medication and dose. Notifies nursing staff of any rate/rhythm changes per protocol Completes/update patient report sheets on a regular basis. Maintains patient documentation and files upon discharge. Provides report using information on report sheets to the oncoming shift. Troubleshoots for faulty leads, batteries and reports any equipment failures to clinical engineering as necessary and document problems and repairs on communication log. Maintains stock and par levels for leads, lead wires, electrodes, batteries and telemetry paper.
