Job Summary:
Description PeaceHealth is seeking a Monitor Technician•Telemetry for a Part Time, 0.80 FTE, Night position . The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $22.62•$35.33. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc. This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement. There may be more than one opening on this posting. Job Summary This position is responsible for obtaining and interpreting cardiac physiological monitoring data, documenting any changes in arrhythmias and reporting problems to a registered nurse or physician. Responsible for assessing and maintaining equipment to ensure proper function. Essential Functions Operate the appropriate monitoring device in accordance with physician orders. Expert at using all functions of central monitoring equipment. Observes monitors continually, detecting and documenting any changes in heart rhythm and arrhythmias according to department standards. Identifies and interprets EKG and relays pertinent information to physician or nurse according to department standards. Assists physicians in viewing rhythm history. Orients staff to central monitoring capability and role of Monitor Tech. Perform clerical duties as assigned which may include processing admissions, discharges and transfers. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Education High School Diploma Preferred:
or equivalent
And Preferred:
Completion of Nurse Aide, Medical Assistant or equivalent program
And Required:
Completion of EKG class and monitoring equipment class within 1 month of hire
Experience Preferred:
Experience in healthcare setting, preferably work within cardiology specialty and Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient's needs
Credentials Required:
Upon Hire Basic Life Support Skills Basic computer skills including MS Office applications. (Required) Ability to communicate clearly and concisely. (Required) Basic knowledge of anatomy/physiology of the heart. (Required) Department / Location Specific Notes RiverBend Hospital Equipment familiarity will be substituted for the monitoring equipment class required in the education section. Working Conditions Lifting Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH). Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures.
Push/Pull:
Frequently up to 45 lbs. force (i.e., WOW, medical carts). Perform hands on CPR at least 20 mins using 100-125 lbs. of force (National Assoc. of EMS Physicians and AHA) Frequency should be seldom or occasionally. Ability to move around area with frequent sitting. Bending/ stooping/ squatting/ reaching/ kneeling frequently. Lifting (non-patient) up to 20 lbs. occasionally and 5 lbs. frequently. Environmental Conditions Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles. Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy environment.
