Job Description

Position Summary This position is responsible for the monitoring of cardiac rhythms, documentation, and notifying primary nurse of abnormal rhythms. Responsible for desk functions, answering telephone and patient call system, replenishing charts, etc. If certified as a Nursing Assistant, may work in this capacity when the telemetry census is two or less, in absence of scheduled Nursing Assistant. Modifies and delivers care that is specific to the age, growth, and level of development of patients including adolescent, adult, and geriatric. The secretarial duties are an integral part of the nursing unit, being involved in patient care and documentation of patient care. While not directly responsible for care of the patient, the Unit Secretary is responsible for assuring patient care is accomplished. Responsible for all general duties and is the pivot person in communications. The Monitor Tech is accountable to and evaluated by the Nurse Manager. Minimum Requirements AHA Heartsaver required. AHA BLS may be substituted for HeartSaver Medical terminology course required or demonstrated competency Completion of an EKG Interpretation course High School Diploma or equivalent GED Pay Range $16.00 - $21.97 ECU Health About ECU Health North Hospital ECU Health North Hospital is a Joint Commission-accredited, 204-bed acute bed facility serving Halifax, Northampton and Warren counties in the north-central region of North Carolina.
