Summary:
The Telemetry Tech monitors the electrical activity of patients' heart rhythms through a central monitoring station in the hospital setting. They are responsible for identifying and reporting changes in heart rhythms to assigned nursing staff.
Essential Job Functions:
Monitors telemetry central. Detects, analyzes, records, and reports any rhythm changes. Functions as a resource to nursing staff for rhythm analysis. Reads, interprets, and sends rhythm strips to each unit for nurse review and documentation. Serves as a resource to bedside staff for applying telemetry monitors, maintenance of monitors and leads, and troubleshooting problems regarding telemetry monitoring Monitors telemetry orders and communicates changes of patient's telemetry order status to the direct care team. Advises direct care team of unsatisfactory outcomes and patient concerns Prepares and maintains telemetry Kardex Communicates accurate and thorough patient information to nursing staff and providers and assures that nursing staff and providers communicate pertinent patient information to telemetry central. Performs triaging process for telemetry central when indicated according to standard work Maintains telemetry equipment, reporting any technical issues per policy. Tracks telemetry devices to assure location is known. Cleans telemetry equipment per standard operating procedure. Other Duties as assigned

Learning Management System Language Requirements:
This position requires proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English to ensure effective communication in the workplace and with patients, families, and team members.
