Job Description

JOB DUTIES
Provide patient monitoring support and direct patient care. Maintain records and documents of cardiac rhythm for nursing staff. Observe and interpret cardiac rhythm of patients. Post and interpret rhythm strips at regular intervals. Perform lead placement on patients. Report any changes in latest and previous strips to nurse. Recognize and respond to abnormal patient condition. Clean medical equipment after each patient use. Validate and test medical equipment for any problems. Report monitoring equipment repairs in timely manner. Maintain medical supplies and equipment needed to provide patient monitoring. Train new staff on operation of monitoring system. Deliver quality patient care services in timely and accurate manner. Maintain clean and safe work area.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
High School graduate or equivalent. EMT, Certified Nursing or Medical Assistant preferred. Strong interpersonal communication skills. Experience in data entry or typing preferred. Legible handwriting. Fluent knowledge of medical terminology. Current BLS, PALS and ACLS Healthcare Provider card.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Patient care environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, and temperature changes. A large part of work time is standing and walking. Subject to certain distasteful patient care activities and exposure to communicable diseases. May be exposed to potential hazards such as chemical wastes, body wastes, fluids and other possible infectious material.
