Work hours: Full-Time, Day's 7:00 AM-7:00 PM Telemetry Tech highlights: The professional Monitor Tech exhibits understanding of basic human needs as well as demonstrates recognition and understanding of patient's affiliations. H.S. Diploma or Equivalent Required. BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required. Basic Understanding/ability to learn medical terminology.What You Will Do:
Demonstrates competency in the set up and use of the telemetry monitoring equipment. Collects, reports, and documents patient information (rhythms/rate) timely and accurately. Seeks assistance, supervision, or consultation when unsure of rhythm(s) identification. Distinguishes and reports abnormalities and initiates action to provide continuity of care. Processes admission and discharge or patients in system promptly. Prepares monitor for next patient admission. Notifies patient's primary RN promptly of any changes in patient's monitor view. Communicates promptly of perceived risks specific to patient safety or immediate need for assistance to co-workers, nurses, and physicians/providers. Completes safety checklists and quality controls as required. Assures that alarms are activated with appropriate settings and are sufficiently audible. Cleans all monitors per manufacturer's instructions after each use. Reports equipment malfunction and/or failure immediately per escalation procedures. Answers telephone, intercom, and/or Vocera timely and in a polite manner and communicates information to the appropriate party. Maintains an orderly and clean work area in compliance with regulatory standards. Serves as a patient advocate. Assists with documentation that supports and meets hospital and regulatory requirements. Complies with personnel policies i.e., Attendance, ID badge, Dress Code, et. al. Works assigned schedule and adjusts to help meet departmental and patient needs. Accepts other duties, as assigned.
