About the
Role:
The Vascular Technologist (VASCULARTECH-REG
) plays a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with vascular conditions by performing specialized diagnostic ultrasound examinations. This position involves utilizing advanced imaging techniques to assess blood flow and detect abnormalities in arteries and veins throughout the body. The technologist collaborates closely with physicians and healthcare teams to provide accurate and timely diagnostic information that directly influences patient care decisions. Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are essential to ensure high-quality imaging and patient comfort. Ultimately, the role contributes significantly to improving patient outcomes through precise vascular assessment and support of therapeutic interventions.Minimum Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited Vascular Technology program. Current certification as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or equivalent credential. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Demonstrated proficiency in performing vascular ultrasound examinations. Strong understanding of vascular anatomy, physiology, and pathology.Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and digital imaging software. Prior experience working in a hospital or outpatient vascular lab setting. Strong communication skills for effective patient interaction and interdisciplinary collaboration.Responsibilities:
Perform non-invasive vascular ultrasound examinations including arterial and venous studies of the extremities, carotid duplex, abdominal aorta, and other vascular territories as ordered by physicians. Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, positioning them appropriately, and ensuring their comfort throughout the examination. Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality to produce high-quality diagnostic images. Analyze and document findings accurately, providing detailed reports and preliminary interpretations to assist physicians in diagnosis and treatment planning. Maintain compliance with all regulatory and safety standards, including infection control protocols and patient confidentiality requirements. Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to discuss findings and contribute to patient care strategies. Participate in continuing education and training to stay current with advancements in vascular technology and best practices.Skills:
The required skills enable the technologist to perform precise and comprehensive vascular ultrasound examinations, ensuring accurate data collection and image quality. Proficiency in operating ultrasound equipment and interpreting vascular anatomy is essential for daily diagnostic tasks.
