Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY
A busy Maternal Fetal Medicine private practice is seeking a full-time Perinatal Sonographer the Opelika/Auburn area. The Perinatal Sonographer will perform outpatient perinatal diagnostic medical sonograms under the directions of a Perinatologist. This candidate will perform professional duties involved in a variety of diagnostic images in a high risk obstetrical ultrasound outpatient medical practice. This candidate is responsible for the independent operation of sonography equipment, and for performing and communicating results of diagnostic examinations using sonography and reporting through a EMR and PACs system. This candidate is responsible for adhering to departmental standards and expectations regarding patient schedule, equipment maintenance, the reporting of equipment failure, and quality assurance. This candidate is required to maintain a high standard of medical ethics at all times, and is self-motivated to increase her/his level of understanding and knowledge of the field, disease, and new procedures as they evolve.
Candidate must possess the following:
Computer literate - Microsoft Word, Outlook Excellent oral and written communication skills. Outstanding customer service skills Professional communication with patients, coworkers and providers In-depth attention to detail Effective time management skills Willingness to travel to satellite locations
Qualifications:
Registered - ARDMS (OB/GYN) or ability to become registered within one year Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Program A minimum one year high risk OB U.S. experience required Nuchal Translucency and Cardiac certification preferred Maintain continuing education credits
