Job Description

Job Title:
Ultrasound Technician (Diagnostic Medical Sonographer)
Specialty:

Site:
Pinon Health Center (PHC)
Chinle Service Unit, Indian Health Service Location:
Pinon Health Center Outpatient Radiology Dept., Pinon, AZ. Occasional coverage may be required at Chinle Comprehensive Health Care Facility (CCHCF) and other Chinle Service Unit sites (~40 miles away)
Duration:
1 year contract with the possibility of one more year
Pay Rate:
$60 $75/hour on W2
Shift Schedule:
Regular hours: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM (40 hours/week) Overtime may be required beyond 5:00 PM to meet patient care needs; not to exceed 5 additional hours per week (45 hours total) without prior written supervisor approval
How Many Shifts Needed Per Month:
Approximately 160 168 hours per month (standard); 2,080 hours per contract year Credentialing /

Required:
ARRT in Diagnostic Medical Sonography
OR ARDMS
must be current and active throughout the contract
BLS Education:
Completion of an accredited and registered course of study in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARRT or ARDMS accredited program) Degree documentation required
Experience Needed:
Minimum 12 months of clinical experience in Diagnostic Medical Sonography in the specialties required by the contract. No lapse in practice of more than 6 consecutive months within the 6 months prior to starting at CSU Pinon Health Center. Experience with IHS RPMS/EHR or VA Electronic Health Record System and Vista Imaging is favorable.
Special Skills:
Proficiency in general, obstetric, and vascular ultrasonography (all ages/genders) Sterile/aseptic technique; Trophon maintenance and use Ability to recognize and report significant imaging findings to ordering provider Familiarity with IHS RPMS/EHR and Vista Imaging (preferred) Basic computer skills; English fluency required; Navajo language a plus Cultural sensitivity to American Indian and Alaska Native practices
Responsibilities:
Perform outpatient diagnostic ultrasound studies including general, OB, vascular, and procedural imaging Set up equipment, assess image quality, and transmit results to ordering providers Schedule, triage, and prepare patients; explain procedures and ensure safety Document all encounters accurately in
IHS EHR/RPMS
system Maintain equipment, supplies, and departmental logs Consult with radiologist on complex or emergent cases Adhere to IHS policies, HIPAA, Joint Commission standards, and Federal Code of Conduct Provide emergency first aid and initiate CPR as needed Prime Physicians is a physician-led, The Joint Commission (TJC) Accredited, ISO 9001 certified and CMMI Level 3 appraised organization.
