Glance Pay:
$50/hr taxable +$1,533 weekly per diem - $3,533 weekly
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (40 hours/week). No weekends. No on-call.
Setting:
Outpatient ambulatory clinic — primary care, women's health, and walk-in urgent care Contract length: Base year 7/1/2026 - 6/30/2027, plus one 12-month option year

On-site government quarters may be available (tenant pays IHS prevailing rate + utilities) About the Opportunity Four Winds Staffing is hiring a credentialed Ultrasound Technologist to serve patients at Pinon Health Center, a federal Indian Health Service (IHS) outpatient facility within the Chinle Service Unit. The clinic provides care to approximately 11,000 patients — predominantly members of the Navajo Nation — and offers a unique opportunity to practice in a culturally rich, mission-driven environment with strong physician collaboration and a stable Monday-through-Friday schedule. You will provide uninterrupted outpatient ultrasound services using non-ionizing, high-frequency ultrasound for diagnostic imaging — including general, vascular, OB, and procedural sonography — across all ages and both pregnant and non-pregnant patients. This is a non-personal services contract; you remain an independent professional while integrated into the clinical team. What You'll Do Perform full-body diagnostic ultrasound studies — general, abdominal, OB/GYN, vascular, and procedural — as ordered by providers Image patients of all ages and genders, including pregnant and non-pregnant patients Set up equipment, position patients, capture and review images for clarity, and retake when needed Flag significant findings to the radiologist, referring physician, or ordering provider for immediate attention Practice sterile and aseptic technique; demonstrate proficiency in Trophon™ disinfection Document studies and patient information in the
IHS RPMS
/ Electronic Health Record system Maintain equipment, perform routine QC activities (per ARRT standards), and assist with supply inventory Initiate CPR / first aid if needed and adhere to The Joint Commission, CMS, and AAAHC standards Support the Urgent Care Clinic and, when called upon, sister facilities within the Chinle Service Unit Required Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program (ARRT- or ARDMS-registered course of study) Active, current ARRT (Sonography) or ARDMS certification and registration Minimum 12 months of experience performing the specialties required by this contract (general, OB, vascular) No lapse in clinical services greater than 6 consecutive months in the 6 months immediately before start date Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and CPR certification through the contract term Ability to clear Level I and Level II federal background checks (eQIP / OPM) and fingerprinting Fitness-for-duty medical evaluation from a licensed physician Up-to-date immunizations: Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B (or signed declination), MMR, Varicella, Tdap, annual TB test, annual influenza Reads, writes, and speaks English proficiently Valid U.S. driver's license (strongly recommended — Pinon has no public transportation) Comfort and competence with electronic health records and basic computer systems Preferred (Not Required) ACLS and/or PALS certification Prior experience with
IHS RPMS/EHR, VA
CPRS, or VistA Imaging Prior experience in IHS, tribal, or federal healthcare facilities Navajo language fluency
Schedule & Work Environment Tour of Duty:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (40 hrs/week, 1-hour lunch)
Overtime:
Up to 5 additional hours/week at the same hourly rate (pre-approval needed beyond 45 hrs/wk)
Holidays:
Federal holidays observed — facility closed; no holiday pay
Telework:

Travel:
Occasional support at Chinle Comprehensive Health Care Facility or other Chinle Service Unit sites as needed Location & Housing Pinon Health Center is on Navajo Route 4, about 2 miles east of Pinon, Arizona — in the heart of the Navajo Reservation. The setting is rural, scenic, and culturally rich. The Chinle Service Unit is near Canyon de Chelly National Monument. A privately-owned vehicle is strongly recommended.
Housing:
On-site government quarters may be available at IHS prevailing rental rates plus utilities (paid by the provider or staffing agency — not provided free by IHS). Availability is limited and waitlists exist; arrangements will be coordinated with Four Winds Staffing prior to start date.
