As part of the responsibilities of this position, travel is required among all of Palomar Health facilties. Responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound and vascular procedures by producing, assessing, and evaluating ultrasound images and related data used by physicians to render a medical diagnosis. Acquires and evaluates data while exercising discretion and judgment in the performance of clinical examination of neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. Proficient in Abdomen, OB/GYN, Small Parts and Vascular ultrasound exams. Vascular ultrasound exams include, but not limited to: Carotid, Venous extremity and Arterial testing. Participates as a team member to ensure appropriate treatment to all co-workers, physicians, and patients. In the absence of the supervisor, serves in a leadership role to ensure continuity of service. May attend meetings or participate in programs to improve operations or services. May assist supervisor with training of other personnel in new protocols. May perform ultrasound procedures at other facilities as patient volume requires. Primary works areas are, but not limited to: Ultrasound, Emergency Rooms, Operating Rooms, etc. Speak and read English at a level that is sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position. Knowledge of standard office equipment (i.e., calculator, fax, photocopier) and personal computer and computer software skills (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, Powerpoint, internet, e-mail). Windows computer skills including proficient use of keyboarding, use of mouse or keys for functions such as selecting items, use of drop down menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying and similar operations required upon employment or within the 1st two weeks of employment to perform the essential functions of the job. Performs other duties as assigned. Follows Palomar Health rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws and standards. Carries out the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Palomar Health.
Job Requirements Minimum Education:
Graduate of a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited ultrasound program or a graduate from a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program with current ARDMS certification.

0 - 6 months Ultrasound experience
Preferred Experience:
1-5 years Ultrasound experience

American Heart Association recognized BLS -
Healthcare Provider Preferred Certification:
