Job Summary:
College Medical Center is seeking a Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer to perform invasive and non-invasive cardiovascular and cardiopulmonary diagnostic tests as ordered by physicians, in accordance with established standards of practice. The Sonographer will assist physicians with diagnostic procedures, install, configure, and support the Echocardiogram Sonographer Systems across the LAN and WAN, and ensure accurate, reliable test results. This position supports the Mission of the Hospital by delivering distinctive and compassionate care to our patients.
Job Qualifications:
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) credential from ARDMS. Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology program (AS degree) One year of full-time clinical cardiac ultrasound experience preferred. Current BLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR) required upon hire. CPI certification must be completed and maintained within 90 days of hire. Experience with computer networking, digital hospital network systems, and digital data transfer. Demonstrated knowledge and skills in performing diagnostic cardiology and cardiopulmonary procedures. Strong computer proficiency, including expertise with DICOM and digital Echo Lab platforms.
Job-Specific Duties:
Perform cardiology diagnostic procedures as ordered by physicians; chart tests and calculate measurements as required. Maintain accurate and complete records and other pertinent patient information. Provide preliminary reports to attending physicians and nursing staff for any severely abnormal findings. Check equipment, supplies, and accessories regularly; perform minor troubleshooting as needed. Assist in new employee orientation and serve as a preceptor as requested. Complete cardiopulmonary billing accurately and in a timely manner. Recognize and appropriately respond to the unique needs of patients across varying age groups.
