July 2026
Duration:
1 year contract with the possibility of four 1 year extension
Shift Schedule:
Day Shift:
8:00 AM 4:30
PM Evening Shift:
3:30 PM 12:00 AM Weekday & Weekend Coverage (including holidays)
How Many Shifts Needed Per Month:
~41 shifts/month (based on ~347 hrs/month ~8.5 hr shifts)
Certifications:
American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) (AB) encouraged but not required Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required
Education:
Per ARDMS or equivalent training in
Medical Sonography Experience Needed:
Minimum 2 years of current work experience in
Medical Sonography Special Skills Needed:
Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) experience preferred;
AGFA PACS
experience a plus (training provided if needed) Ability to efficiently use computers and technology Ability to wear and maintain medical scrubs while on duty
Responsibilities:
Independently operate ultrasound equipment to perform complex diagnostic ultrasound examinations Receive patients, explain procedures, position patients, select and set technical factors, and document necessary images Set up ultrasound exam rooms ensuring all supplies and equipment are present and available Send images to PACS, archive images, post-process images, and complete case editing of computer requests and reports Maintain records and enter patient information using the Radiology Vista Package and the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) Perform related clerical duties as required Comply with all VALBHS written policies, procedures, medical staff bylaws, and protocols Participate in VA mandatory training (Privacy, Cyber Security, Diversity, Fire Safety, Infection Control) Maintain confidentiality of all patient records per HIPAA Prime Physicians is a physician-led, The Joint Commission (TJC) Accredited, ISO 9001 certified and CMMI Level 3 appraised organization.
