1 Los Angeles, CA Job Details Per diem $70.42 an hour 9 hours ago Qualifications Basic life support Acute care Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Full Job Description Description This Per Diem position will support the Ultrasound section's South Bay region, primarily at Martin Luther King Jr. Community Hospital, providing patient care for our inpatient and outpatient settings. The South Bay Region is currently comprised of UCLA Health's partnership with MLK Community Hospital, UCLA Health Palos Verdes Imaging & Interventional Center, UCLA Health Manhattan Beach Imaging and Interventional Center, UCLA Health Torrance Specialty Care, UCLA Health Redondo Beach Primary & Specialty Care. This Per Diem position is primarily hospital based and has variable schedules depending on department needs. Schedules are prepared by the manager. Do you have a passion for Ultrasound? In this role, you will: Provide age-appropriate assessment and interventions in order to meet the needs of patients and families served Obtain, evaluate and use information from the patient requisition, medical records, referring physician and correlate with acquired images Use cognitive sonographic skills, to identify and differentiate anatomy and pathology Use independent judgement to produce diagnostic images of human anatomy utilizing diagnostic ultrasound systems for our referring providers and our interpreting physicians Extend courtesy to our patients, family members, visitors and co-workers through our "World Class Practices" Service Standards Internal candidates will be placed according to their Active/Current career ladder level.
External Candidates:
Staff Sonographer:
One to two years experience within the hospital / acute care setting Must maintain active RDMS certification in one specialty, i.e. Abdomen or OB-GYN Graduate of CAAHAP accredited ultrasound program is strongly preferred
Salary Range:
$70.42
Hourly Salary Range:
$70.42 Hourly Qualifications Please ensure your resume and application includes all relevant certifications and licenses. Staff Per Diem Ultrasound Technologist At least 1 year of acute care (hospital) experience
  • required RDMS credential in one specialty (Abdomen or OBGYN)
  • required General Requirements BLS/CPR Certificate
  • required Graduate of CAAHAP ultrasound program
  • strongly preferred AAS or higher in Medical Sonography
  • preferred RDMS (AB or OBGYN)
  • minimum requirement Advanced skills in Vascular and / or MSK ultrasound
  • preferred Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, visitors, physicians, nurses, staff and others in a professional and courteous manner Ability to accept and carry out oral and written instructions accurately Ability to employ independent decision making, prioritize work, while handling multiple tasks to completion within allotted time Ability to show attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness Basic typing skills to input various data into RIS and HIS Information systems.
Knowledge of medical terminology with the ability to distinguish between types of procedures within the assigned department(s) and medical diagnoses
