Job Description

Summary :
University Vascular Associates is a fast-paced vascular surgery practice with multiple offices in the Greater Los Angeles area seeking part-time or full-time ultrasound technicians.
Experience and Education :
Certification as RVT or RVS preferred, along with BLS. Two years of experience is preferred but not required. Sonographers who are not yet certified can be hired under contingencies.
General Job Responsibilities :
  • Performs color duplex imaging procedures to include carotid, venous and arterial extremity studies, AV access fistulas, abdominal Doppler or other tests as assigned.
  • Performs non-imaging evaluation of arteries and veins by Doppler and plethysmographic techniques.
  • Follows exam protocol as defined by the lab director and providers.
  • Prepare initial write up and preliminary interpretation of tests for providers.
  • Performs data collection for quality assurance and research programs.
  • Maintains work area in a clean and orderly condition and ensures that it is properly supplied for procedures.
  • Checks equipment and accessories to ensure proper working order and notifies appropriate personnel for repairs.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented approach to performing job responsibilities and duties.
  • Physical ability to perform full day of vascular studies. Able to help patient to and from the exam room and table along with positioning patient for exams.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to explain process to patients and/or patient's family members.
